Nosotros, los oficiales y suboficiales y soldados del Batallón de Al Faruq, una división del Ejército Sirio Libre, confirmamos que estamos absolutamente comprometidos con la aplicación plena y completa de los cuatro artículos de la Convención de Ginebra, y todas las normas y los actos de la ley internacional, especialmente aquellos relacionados con la protección de los civiles, así como los prisioneros y los que se rindan o se vuelven incapaces de luchar, y estamos comprometidos a evitar cualquier tipo de tortura o cualquier otros delitos mencionado en el derecho Penal Internacional consuetudinario.
Estamos en contacto con especialistas en la documentación de penales que fueron entrenados por los expertos occidentales en la documentación penal internacional y que están trabajando con la oposición, y haremos todo lo posible para ayudar y apoyar a la Oficina de Documentación Penal, que tiene la intención de iniciar el seguimiento y la documentación de los crímenes que cometen los responsables del régimen sirio y los Shabiha (Bandas criminales de Al Asad) contra los civiles, los oficiales y soldados que desertaron y se negaron a disparar contra manifestantes pacíficos.

بيان من كتيبة الفاروق
نحن ضباط و صف ضباط و جنود كتيبة الفاروق في الجيش السوري الحر نعلن التزامنا الكامل ببنود اتفاقية جنيف الأربعة و سائر قواعد القانون الدولي الأنساني , لا سيما في مجال حماية المدنيين و ضمان سلامة الأسرى و الجنود الذين يستسلمون أو الذين لم يعودوا قادرين على القتال , و نمنع أية عمليات تعذيب أو أي جرائم ينص عليها القانون العرفي الجنائي الدولي.
و اننا على تنسيق مع كوادر في المعارضة جرى تدريبهم من قبل خبراء غربيين في التوثيق الجنائي الدولي, و سنقوم بكل ما يلزم لمساعدة مكتب التوثيق الجنائي المزمع انشائه لتوثيق جرائم قادة النظام السوري و الشبيحة بحق السكان المدنيين و الضباط و الجنود المنشقين الذين رفضوا أوامر باطلاق النار على المتظاهرين السلميين

Statement by the Farooq Battalion
We, the officers and non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Farooq Battalion, a division of the Free Syrian Army, confirm that we are committed to the full and complete application of the four articles of Geneva Convention, and all the rules and acts of the international law especially those concerning the protection of civilians as well as the war captives who surrender or become unable to fight; and we are committed to preventing any kind of torture or any other crimes mentioned in the International Customary Criminal Law.
We are liaising with specialists in criminal documentation who were trained by western experts in international criminal documentation and who are working with the opposition; and we will do all that we can to help and support the Office of Criminal Documentation that is meant to start tracking and documenting the crimes that the leaders in the Syrian regime and Shabiha have done to the civilians and the officers and soldiers who refused to shoot at peaceful protestors.
