19.46 Al menos un soldado y otra persona han muerto en el norte de Líbano, durante un tiroteo desencadenado tras una manifestación en solidaridad con los sirios, han informado fuentes de la Policía y del Ejército

17.55 Siria.- Las protestas contra el régimen dejan más de una docena de muertos por todo el país, según denuncian grupos opositores y cadenas de televisión árabes. Los Comités de Coordinación Locales en Siria aseguran que han muerto al menos 19 personas.

14.38 Siria.- Testigos han asegurado a Al Yazira que una manifestación de 150.000 personas recorre las calles de la localidad de Hama.

13.23 Siria.- La canciller alemana, Angela Merkel, y el presidente francés, Nicolas Sarkozy, han manifestado este viernes su determinación a aumentar la presión sobre el régimen sirio, siempre y cuando cuenten con una resolución de la ONU, para lo cual aspiran a obtener el respaldo de Rusia.
"Nosotros, Francia, actuamos cuando convino hacerlo en Costa de Marfil como lo hicimos en Libia. Pero siempre lo hicimos respaldados con una resolución del Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU", ha recalcado el presidente francés, tras su reunión en la Cancillería con Merkel.

13.21 Siria.- Las fuerzas del ejército disparan contra los manifestantes que, un viernes más, han vuelto a salir a las calles.

13.00 Siria.- La Unión Europea prepara una nueva ronda de sanciones contra el régimen sirio por la continua represión violenta de las protestas en el país árabe, aunque no se espera que se apruebe el lunes en el Consejo de ministros de Exteriores.

10.25 Siria. El número de sirios que han entrado en Turquía para huir de la represión en su país ha llegado hoy a 9.700. En las últimas 24 horas, más de mil han cruzado la frontera, seggún una fuente oficial turca.

06.15 Siria.- El Departamento de Estado norteamericano ha calificado como "repugnantes" las acciones del Gobierno sirio. "Los ataques bárbaros y la violencia deben detenerse", ha declarado la portavoz, Victoria Nuland, quien ha recordado que hace semanas el presidente estadounidense, Barack Obama, dio a su par sirio, Bashar al Assad, dos opciones: aplicar reformas o abandonar el poder.
